My boyfriend has an old favourite T-shirt that he wears all the time. He won't get rid of it! It has a picture of an eagle on it. He never stops wearing it. Is the eagle significant? (Y.B. UK)
The message an eagle brings is POWER AND STRENGTH. Your boyfriend continually wearing a T-shirt that has an eagle on it probably reflects an underlying need on his part to feel powerful. At the moment, he is probably looking to his outer reality to give him strength and to prove his strength, where, in fact, his power (like with all of us) lies within, (as in self-confidence, self-esteem, self-worth etc.) |

This morning a robin flew into our bedroom. What message do you think the robin was conveying? My mother lost her battle with cancer in February - could this be a sign from her? (C.E. UK)
People in spirit certainly do use birds to pass on messages to us, so the robin could well have been sent by your mother. The message a robin brings is PROTECTION. The robin may be warning you of an individual or a company with whom you are having dealings, that may not be as reputable as you would like, so you need to protect yourself. Or the robin may be telling you that you are being overprotective toward someone and you need to let them go so that they can make their own way in life. Or the robin may just be simply telling you that no matter what, you are always being watched over and protected by the realms of spirit. |

For sometime now I have birds fly around me, land on the rocking chair I'm sitting on (a mockingbird), and if I'm driving on the freeway, a bird will fly low across in front of me to where I could almost hit it. Being a man of faith, I want to believe this is God telling me something. Then I dwell on the negative - is this a warning? What does a mockingbird mean? (V.G. USA)
Birds are part of the angelic realm and are Divine messengers. Therefore, birds will never bring messages of doom or gloom; their messages are always words of wisdom, guidance and advice to help us on our spiritual journeys. When a bird acts out of character towards us (like you have been experiencing) is the time when we have to be alert that it is delivering a message. The message a mockingbird brings is RESPECT. Are you giving yourself the respect you deserve, by treating yourself well (physically, mentally or emotionally)? Or is there someone in your life who's wishes you are not respecting? Have you put someone on a pedestal, or are you the one commanding respect? These are the sort of questions to ask yourself, to see how the message of 'respect' applies to you. Then act on the guidance as it has been divinely given to you. |

I have birds come into my house. The last one flew into the cupboard (a Common Flicker). When it left the cupboard it had splattered blood all over the inside of the cupboard. What does this symbolize? (J.C. Canada)
The bird flying into your cupboard and leaving blood, is telling me that you are a person who does not express their emotions very easily. You keep everything bottled up. The message a Flicker brings is SECURITY. It is telling you that you are reluctant to move forward in life because you are afraid of the unknown. You want to be in control of everything, including your emotions, because this makes you feel safe and secure. You want to know the guaranteed outcome first before you commit yourself to anything. The future is an unknown quantity for all of us, but we create the future by taking the opportunities presented to us now. Sometimes it does take guts and can be a little frightening, but that's where faith comes in - having faith in ourselves and our abilities, and having faith in the knowledge that we are never alone and are always being guided by the realms of heaven. |

The other day I was walking with a friend of mine when this duck flew next to me and just sat down. I decided to approach it and pat it, and it wasn't scared - it let me pat it. We walked a bit longer and this duck kept circling us and landing and sitting down near us. Would really like to know what this means. (P.T. Australia)
The duck acted in a strange way around you to get your attention, in order to make its message known to you. The message a duck brings is FAITH. The duck was trying to tell you, your friend, or both of you, that there is a lack of faith somewhere deep down, which is holding you back in life. Have you lost faith in yourself? Do you need to have more belief in yourself and your abilities? Have you lost faith in another person, and if so why? Or maybe you are being reminded that no matter what, there is always divine and spiritual support at hand, and to have faith that this is always so. |

My husband died of cancer 3 months ago. Since then there is bickering going on in his family over the will he left, especially from his ex-wife. It's really upsetting me and I don't know how to deal with it. Last night I dreamed I was standing in a courtyard with tall buildings all around me, and there were parrots in every window! Can you tell me the meaning please? (L.W. South Africa)
The tall buildings surrounding you in the dream indicate that you are allowing your husband's family to overwhelm you by their demands, making you feel hemmed in. The message a parrot brings is COMMUNICATION. This tells me that there is no real communication going on between you and your husband's family. Everybody is trying to dictate the terms, putting forth their demands, while you are caught in the middle. The dream is advising you that the best way to solve this situation is for everyone to start communicating with each other in a constructive way. Maybe you can call all the concerned parties to a meeting (even if you bring along lawyers). This way, you stand a better chance of reaching a compromise and an amicable resolution. |

Q: My mother died last year from cancer. On the morning of her funeral I was outside hanging up washing when a white dove flew over me and disappeared. I knew it was a sign from my mother. When I saw the dove, I felt a peace of mind for the first time since my mother fell ill. (L.F. South Africa)
A: People in the spirit world often use birds as mediators to pass on messages to those left behind on earth. Your mother chose a dove with its message of PEACE to convey to you that she is now out of pain and at peace. She wanted you to have peace of mind in knowing she is safe and well, albeit in another realm. Understanding that a loved one is alive and well in the spirit world (our true home) doesn't take away the physical pain of losing that loved one, but this reassuring knowledge does help us as we go through the healing process. |

Q: I live near a big lake and we often see kingfishers. But for the last month one kingfisher has started to sit on my bedroom windowsill tapping the window. Is he trying to give me a message? (E.E. South Africa)
A: Yes. The message a kingfisher brings is RELATIONSHIPS. Your kingfisher is trying to get your attention as it wants you to look at your life to see who you are having difficulty relating to. Who is currently annoying you? Is it a family member, a work colleague, a friend? The trait that annoys us most about another person is the very trait that is inherent in ourselves. The other person is reflecting back to us a similar trait in our own personality, to make us consciously aware of it so that we can positively change it in ourselves. If we can view these irritating people from the perspective that they are in our lives to highlight the negative beliefs that need to be addressed in ourselves, then it is easier not to be bothered by them and to mentally thank them and to let them go. |
